Spirit Airlines No Longer Allows See Through Clothing, Other Airlines With Similar Restrictions
Say good-bye to your see through tops, fishnet stockings, clear pants, mesh or shear tops with no bra. Spirit Airlines is trying to class things up a bit. They have just updated their rules and restrictions to fly and it reads: nothing “lewd, obscene, or offensive in nature” can be seen or worn. Now obviously this is a subjective thing because what one thinks is lewd and offensive, another person may not. Oh, and by the way this also applies to tattoos and body art. You also can not be barefoot either. You can see the entire “contract of carriage” HERE.
Believe it or not, this code of conduct is nothing new for other airlines. American Airlines has a rule that states: “dress appropriately; bare feet or offensive clothing aren’t allowed.” Delta has a similar policy about bare feet but takes it a step further stating: “when the passenger’s conduct, attire, hygiene or odor creates an unreasonable risk of offense or annoyance to other passengers.” Jet Blue also has a similar rule that reads: “persons whose conduct is or has been known to be disorderly, abusive, offensive, threatening, intimidating, violent, or whose clothing is lewd, obscene, or patently offensive” and “persons who are barefoot and over five years old.”
Now if you break these rules on the airlines that have these restrictions, you risk being kicked off of your flight and NONE of your fees returned. So I guess the question is, are you willing to take that risk? Regardless if you think the rules are fair or not, why risk losing the hundreds of dollars you spent on a flight and better yet not even making it to your destination? You make the choice that’s best for you but ask yourself first: Is it really worth it?
