If this isn't an example of life is too short, I don't know what is. Imagine being in a fight with someone for over 20 years and not even knowing why. Madonna and Elton John just proved that no matter what your differences, it's never too late to make amends.

Madonna posted a picture holding Elton after they chatted backstage at SNL. She captioned the photo: "We Finally Buried the Hatchet!!!" Now, no one really knows how their beef started but we do know that Elton has trash talked Madonna in public on several occasions. Let's not forget his acceptance speech at the Q Awards back in 2004:

Madonna says she was always a big fan of Elton's and didn't understand where the hate was coming from. Needless to say, when he saw her this past weekend, word is he said "Forgive me" and the rest was history.

This had us thinking, what is the longest amount of time you were fighting with someone and did you ever make up? We asked this question of our listeners yesterday and they delivered.

Daniel D told us: "Me and a friend were chopping it up on the phone and he hung up on me while we were in the middle of a conversation. I took it as disrespect so I attempted to call him back but he didn't answer so I left it alone. I was mad as hell at him for 6 years. The next time I heard anything about him was his wife calling me to tell me he died of a rare form of cancer. The crappy part is he had horrible service where he lived. Thats why our call got cut. He thought I hung up on him. So we never got to fix our friendship."

Krystal said: "I haven't talked to my old best friend in 14 years because she lied and told everyone that she was not only there when I got the call my dad was killed in an accident she also said she helped take care of my daughter and nephews when we went to the funeral home to set up his services. Still to this day I have not spoken to her."

Kate told us: "When I was 5 I was in a car accident where I was hit by a drunk driver and had a severe head injury. I got $35,000. My mom got around the same amount since she was injured as well. For years, she told me I had that money in the bank and would get it when I turned 18. When I turned 18, I found out she was lying the whole time and spend it all a long time ago. I didn't talk to her for years because of it."

Regardless of the reason, the lesson here is that life is too short. No matter how long your beef has been, it's never too late to make amends. Let Madonna and Elton John be your inspiration. You'll feel much better.
