Summer is official starting this week and many of us are pinching our pennies. But that shouldn't stop you from going out and exploring and having fun this summer. I was searching the internet this morning and found one topic that peaked my interest. It was ways of enjoying your summer on a budget by taking up cheap hobbies. Let's take a look at some of the most intriguing ones.

Reading: While I personally am not a reader, there's something to be said about getting a library card, and taking a book to the beach or even a park.

Exercise: So I've recently started walking. I try to go daily. I find it frees my mind and keeps me at peace as well as making me think I'm exerting myself by working out.

Drawing/arts/crafts: I have NO creative bone in my body BUT that doesn't mean I can't take up some sort of drawing or painting class. There are a ton in the city in which you live. All it takes is a little research.

Hiking or camping: I've never been a hiker OR a camper. But hiking has been of interest to me lately. I also hate camping. But I have been more open to GLAMPING.

Pickleball: There have been an abundance of pickleball courts opening all over the place, including your home town. There has been a huge surge in pickleball players and it's a great way to stay in shape.

Golf: Another sport I have never tried but want to. While it can be expensive to play golf, you can always try mini golf or Top Golf places.

The summer solstice begins on June 20. And we all know it'll be gone before we know it so take the time to enjoy it...and stay within a budget. That'll make you even happier.
