It's fashion's biggest night. It happens every first Monday of May. Yes I'm talking about the Met Gala. Many of us have no idea what this event really means. For most of us, it's a showcase of unique fashion going up the Met Gala steps. Many fashion choices go viral each year leaving most of wondering, WTF are they wearing? But there is always thought and strategy behind each outfit so let's take a look at what the Met Gala really is.

So the Met Gala is actually a fundraiser with proceeds going to The Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. Tickets cost $75,000 a person and $350,000 per table. This year's theme is "Superfine: Tailoring Black Style" which is celebrating exclusively black designers. Co chairs of this year’s event include actor Colman Domingo, Formula I driver Lewis Hamilton, A$AP Rocky, Pharrell Williams, and fashion icon Anna Wintour.

Celebrities attending this year will be: Rihanna, the Kardashians, Zendaya and rumor has it Taylor Swift and boyfriend Travis Kelce may make their Met debut. This would be the first time Taylor's been to the Met since 2016.

Coverage of the Met Gala takes place starting at 6pm and you can watch a live stream on Youtube and Vogue.com. E! entertainment will be broadcasting red carpet arrivals as well.

As far as drama, there may be plenty as the ongoing feud between Blake Lively and Taylor Swift may come to a head. Blake is a Met staple but if Taylor goes, that could make for some awkward moments. Although there are rumors Blake may not be attending. I'm also interested to see if Kanye tries to make some kind of statement as he boasted on "X" that he and his wife Bianca would show up in KKK robes.

Overall, the Met will raise millions of dollars tonight and once the A listers are inside, the press stays out and phones are off as dinner is served and performances take place.
