People will perform random acts of kindness many times at a local coffee shop, restaurant or anywhere they can do a good deed for a stranger. But have you ever heard of the phrase "paying it backward?" It's an awful trend that is now on the rise and you need to beware.
It happened recently to a woman at a Dunkin'. She put her incident on TikTok and described how she was at a Drive Thru and when she pulled up to pay for her order, found out that the person in front of her told the worker that SHE would be paying for their order. She captioned the video: "To the random guy in front of me . . . who lied to the employee . . . I hope you have the day you deserve."
She actually posted a follow up video where she clarified she did NOT pay for the man's order and that the employees were cool about it.
The woman also posted a video of her trying to restore goodness in the world by paying it forward for someone else. Let's hope "paying it backward" is not becoming a trend and that the person responsible learns from this and doesn't do it again.
