Montell Jordan Revisits Iconic Hit
Rising star Max Rae joins forces with R&B icon Montell Jordan to release a fresh take on “This Is How We Do It.” Jordan’s 1995 smash hit dominated clubs everywhere. The song, called “How We Do It,” drops March 14, 2025.
The team-up celebrates thirty years since Jordan’s original “This Is How We Do It” became a sensation, earned 7x Platinum certification, and topped the Billboard Hot 100. Their new version looks to excite longtime fans while drawing in a new generation.
For Rae, this song adds to an already impressive run. Last year brought the “Live & Learn” EP and a killer remix of Janet Jackson’s “If” with DJ Jeff Retro. The momentum continues into 2025 with the upcoming Retro/Rae tour and a spring EP drop.
2024 saw Rae lighting up PRIDE festivals across America. The performer rocked shows in LA, NYC, D.C., Long Island, and San Diego. A highlight came at Chicago Pride, where Rae opened for powerhouse singer Amber Riley.
The idea for this musical collaboration came to Rae during a London trip. Jordan loved the concept and jumped on board, as Rae told Kaltblut Magazine.
This partnership fits perfectly into Rae’s bigger picture: blending fresh music with live performances to grow a fanbase. Back in ’95, the original song dominated the charts for seven weeks straight, making its mark in music history.
