Lil' Wayne Speaks On Super Bowl Snub, 'It Broke Me.' Earlier this week it was announced that Kendrick Lamar would be the Super Bowl half time performer next year. The announcement was mixed to say the least. Many applauded the NFL for its decision. However, many felt that because the Super Bowl was taking place in New Orleans and Lil' Wayne is from New Orleans, it was only natural that Wayne be chosen. Drake, Nicki Minaj and others expressed their frustration over the choice and some even felt Jay Z, the organizer of the event, was punishing Wayne by not choosing him. The only person we have not heard from in all of this is Wayne himself...until now.

Lil' Wayne has broken his silence. In a short video, Wayne says he's hurt and it broke him. But he did thank his fans for helping him through this tough time. Wayne is clearly distraught by it all and says he will keep going and working hard.

Why Some Hip Hop Fans Are Not Happy With Kendrick Lamar Performing At The Super Bowl. Kendrick Lamar has just been chosen as the halftime performer for Super Bowl LIX. Why this is a big win for hip hop as the Super Bowl halftime is one of the most widely watched live show of the year, some fans are not happy about the choice and feel the honor should have gone to another rapper instead.

Super Bowl LIX will take place in New Orleans early next year. So many fans are questioning why Lil' Wayne wasn't picked as the halftime performer. Now, these fans are in no way trying to take anything away from Kendrick. They're giving him his flowers but ultimately wonder the timing of it all. Seeing as the Super Bowl in 2026 will be in Los Angeles, many feel the NFL could've waited until then to choose Kendrick and allowed the home town star Wayne to have his moment.

Now there is a possibility Kendrick brings Lil' Wayne on stage with him seeing as the two have collaborated. We'll have to wait and see. Super Bowl LIX takes place in New Orleans on 2/9/25.

People like Master P, DJ Akademiks and more had a lot to say about the NFL choosing Kendrick. Keep scrolling to see some of the more notable artist and fan reactions to the choice.

Master P says "Lil Wayne should be a part of this celebration as well"

Master P makes it a point to celebrate the choice of Kendrick BUT says Wayne should be included. "Salute to Kendrick Lamar for performing at the halftime show at Super Bowl LIX.. well deserved, he's one of the hottest music artists in the world and has one of the biggest songs right now. As Ambassador of Entertainment in the City of New Orleans I have to agree with the fans that Lil Wayne should be a part of this celebration as well. He's one of the greatest Hip Hop artists alive, still relevant and he's a New Orleans native. Let's not miss this cultural moment in the South. Life is too short! We have to give our legends their flowers while they are here."

DJ Akademiks "Jay Z a legendary hater"

Akademiks blames Jay Z calling him a legendary hater. "The Super Bowl in New Orleans and they let Kendrick Lamar perform over Lil Wayne…. Jay Z a legendary hater for that."

Lil' Wayne's manager is angry

"Confused. Disappointed. Angry. But most of all. Inspired." He called Wayne the goat.

@theyungchun "Roc nation not even hiding it anymore."

"Roc nation not even hiding it anymore. You can't force a moment like young money, you just can't"

@EliAshawnn "This happening purely off a diss song, shows how people really be feeling about Drake. "

This X user says "There’s no way on Gods green earth the Super Bowl is in NOLA and Lil Wayne just didn’t get that call idk."
